As midnight strikes and darkness falls, thoughts wander off to Yash’s new movie Toxic – time flies by. As a matter of fact, it was just recently announced that the news spread like wildfire with every new piece of information. The release date of June 4 will mark an exciting debut since audiences can hardly wait to see the movie’s premiere across the country. Just a teaser and already everyone is mesmerized with the trailer of the film.
Recently, Yash made an interesting announcement regarding Toxic. It turns out that there is much more about the movie than one could notice on the surface. Rather than presenting simple action and crime, the film is full of deep and powerful emotions expressed through complex, looping twists and layers of narration. In a way, Yash managed to surprise his audience with a hidden intrigue. All of a sudden, people started feeling excited about the movie.

Beyond the Plot of the Film
During his recent interview about the new movie, something came up about Toxic. Despite its obvious plot, there is more than meets the eye in the film. According to Yash, the narration constantly changes while the plot moves forward. The audience will have their perceptions of what they see changing all the time. Every shot takes the viewer further into the movie in unexpected ways.
The point here is not in rapid pace or any other element that makes a film exciting. In the case of Toxic, what happens inside of a character becomes far more important than any outer scene. Given the fact that emotions arise only after the surface layer, the plot will stop to pay attention to characters’ behavior under stress. At times, the emotions may seem uneven or inconsistent but never forced.

A look, a pause – that is how much can be said between words. The silent moment speaks louder than any sound. Yash puts emphasis on genuine moments of life, adding lots of emotions to his scenes. While visual effects are highly impressive and reach heights rarely seen before, they are rooted deeply in the reality due to absolute sincerity of a director.
A Rare Movie Shot in English
When Yash pointed out that Toxic was shot in English, I was rather surprised. Usually, major movies in India do not use English as the language of choice, so it appears that the creators had an international audience in mind when making it. Thus, from the beginning of the work, the decision of the directors seems to show that they have global ambitions.
Going further than limiting oneself to a single language implies the desire to cover more regions with the movie. Being independent of a specific region, the selection demonstrates intentions of going much farther than previously possible.
From the very beginning, it becomes obvious that the movie called Toxic is somewhat unusual and differs greatly from the regular ones. First of all, it does not use any single language, instead providing viewers with a possibility to create intercultural relations in the absence of translators. All information in Toxic passes the national barriers of the characters and viewers without problems because understanding occurs through personal experience and perception.
Toxic A Film Depicting Emotions and Thoughts
Toxic, in my opinion, shows the inner side of feelings quite accurately. It differs from most films in that the action does not rely on contrasts but rather on emotions and thoughts of the heroes.
There are several quiet conversations followed by the slightest hesitations of the protagonists – the movie does not need anything else. Emotions appear like a knot refusing to unweave, decisions are taken slowly as if stuck in thick mud and without any trimming for comfort. Usually, blockbusters avoid such moments, but this movie embraces them.
Perhaps, you will find many reflections of your everyday life in it. Of course, it is difficult to remember any explosions or lights, while those scenes remain in the memory only as a sign that the movie is something special. They grab your attention instantly, but afterwards, they give place to the main part. Maybe, it lies in the peculiarities of development. Toxic creates an ambience that does not vanish after the end of the movie.
The Much-Awaited Return After a Gap of Four Years
Since 2019, Yash disappeared off the screens. With his comeback movie, Toxic, Yash will make his grand return after a big wave created with his previous film, KGF Chapter 2 in 2022. Fans patiently waited all this time for him to come back with hints and clues here and there. Now, it seems, he has finally started moving.
While waiting, more doubts keep on arising. Rather than sticking to usual, Yash uses his latest movie, Toxic, as an opportunity for making an impact and changing things up a little. Stories and visuals that challenge the norms come with the movie rather than usual ones. While working on his new film behind closed doors, there is much anticipation.

Now, he may bring the fire back in him like the old times. Yash knows how to hold himself as per the needs of the place and time. The faith remains intact that once again he will discover that magic inside of him.
The Star Cast and Direction
Unexpectedly, Nayanthara emerges with an aura of serenity. Next comes Tara Sutaria who brings about a movement that feels more like a lightning flash than anything else. While Yash undoubtedly commands attention, everyone else has something special about them. Suddenly, Kiara Advani shifts gears in an unpredictable fashion.
Huma Qureshi remains constant without any pretense. Unlike most actors, they aren’t fighting for recognition. Instead, they allow themselves to be drawn in. The power of this film is that it allows everybody to shine, but not for the purpose of proving something to anybody else.
Geetu Mohandes directed the film, which comes out of nowhere. Her point of view is certainly unique and so is Yash’s, adding a quality of serenity to the film. Though obviously not compatible in any way, the influence they have together is far greater than anticipated. The reason why is the absence of any effort made towards compatibility.
Out of the blue, Toxic rushes into view, singing Hindi then switching to Tamil, moving on to Telugu only to fall back to Malayalam and then drift to Kannada before ending in English. The message seems heavy as if there’s a belief in faith which allows anyone to move closer despite borders and glowing words on a glass pane.
Yash’s Future Still Unsure
Unannounced comes Ramayana, which has been produced by Nitesh Tiwari. Being cast for a character such as Ravana isn’t anything less than a big deal, considering that he is someone whom everyone knows. It does not happen often when an opportunity like this comes along. Just before it does, the choice of Ranbir Kapoor to play the part of Lord Ram becomes a surprising one, considering the way he stands out among others. This movie turns up right before Diwali, followed by the sequel at some other point later on.
